Farewell for now!

Being the last day here, we decided to spend it at one of my favorite spots near Pine, the East Verde River.  It is beautiful, I love the red rocks, and there are a lot of them.  We are very excited to come home for the most part, but it is kinda sad to leave here. Since we got the cabin pretty much cleaned out,it echoes a lot in here, and there is not a whole lot to do.  We are very thankful for our time here, and the great time we had outdoors.  Here are some snapshots of our afternoon.

We can't believe that Eli took this without making some grossed out noise =)

This rock is just a tad bigger than me!

Help!  I'm stranded out here;)

See you all soon!

We are heading home,when??????

I haven't posted lately, because we have really just been working finishing up orders and cleaning up the mess we made because the trip home was right around the corner.  We pretty much packed up the work area yesterday, and today we would have packed up the cabin.  The plan was to leave Tuesday morning. Then we are notified by email and a phone call, that we should wait a few more days.  Maybe our absence is enjoyed;)  No, we know that is not the reason, but rather another lovely snowstorm.  After the one on the trip out here, we would just rather skip it on the way back!  So a few more days here, and then the long journey home shall begin! We are looking forward to being in our home.  As Clay told me last night, "I can picture myself in my own bedroom!"  They will probably enjoy having a little more of their "own" space too!  See ya soon!

Wandering the Wilderness

We spent the afternoon wandering the wilderness on Boulder Loop Trail.  It was just as it sounds....lots of boulders in varying formations and sizes.  You could tell it was a great area for all types of off road vehicles, but for us we just had our good ol' feet!  We met a dirt biker on our way, and the boys (Brian included), thought that dirt biking would be a grand time out there someday.  It was a great couple of hours spent in God's amazing creation!

This One Is For You Grandpa and Grandma!

The grandparents asked for pictures of goofy boys and Eli and his new 10th birthday bike, so this one is for you guys!  Beware, there are LOTS of silly pictures ahead, and they of course did not have to try very hard to perform =)  Enjoy!!!

Brian's Work

I know some of you have been curious as to where Brian is carving and what it looks like, so today I finally remembered to bring the camera along with me.  They are not the best photos, but they will give you the general idea.  He has been able to get a lot of work done, so most of what you see is what he has made here.  We did not bring a whole lot with us because the redwood multiple piece weighed so much.  I forgot to mention in previous posts that you should be able to click on any photo to enlarge it.

(The bear on the far right below is not one of ours)

This is the gift shop that has been nice to let us make a mess in their front yard..

Pretty much every day the boys and I make the walk to the shop so I can do some work.  It is about a 10 minute walk there from the cabin.  That is how we spend our days..just a workin!

A Day At The Zoo

In celebration of Brian's birthday which was last week, we decided to take a trip down to the Phoenix Zoo today.  It was great weather, not too hot not too cold, and it was an enjoyable place to visit.  Here are some photos of our day.....

I guess it is now nap time at the zoo...

A great end to the time at the zoo, camel rides for the boys!
